Don't freak out, but we're already three-quarters into Spring — AKA the world's designated cleaning season. So, there's literally no better time to tidy up your habits, whether that be your workout plan, your diet or even your sleep routine.

In this blog, we've summarised a list of our favourite tried and tested ways to help you live your best life.

1. Set specific goals

If you're assessing whether you should be building better habits, it's probably a sign that your current routine could use a refresh. Luckily, the best place to start is the beginning because setting your goals is just as important as achieving them.

Firstly, we'd like to introduce you to *SMART* goals, which may also be known as your new favourite goal-setting method. SMART goals are a simple and easy way to create powerful AND realistic goals.

Tip: Grab a pen and paper and brainstorm your current habits, including ones that are working and others that might need a bit of love.

Once you've reviewed your list, decide what new habits you'd like to create and ensure you craft your goals according to the following framework:

Specific

Clearly state your goal

Measurable

Ensure you can measure your success

Achievable

Be honest with yourself

Relevant

Make sure it aligns with your life

Time-based

Set a deadline for when you'd like to achieve it by

Reminder: Now is the perfect time to reflect on your progress and recognise that you've overcome the hardest part of building better habits — starting.

2. Don't be too hard on yourself

Like building muscle, creating brand-new habits doesn't happen overnight, so going easy on yourself is important. Keeping your goals realistic ensures that you can be flexible in your approach to achieving them. Whether you're trying to bench more and have a rest day, or wake up earlier and enjoy a cheeky sleep-in. You're human, and humans need room for flexibility; otherwise, life would be incredibly predictable. Plus, breaking a habit every now and then is a great way to remember why you're creating new ones.

3. Make it fun

Another good way to build a habit is to make it enjoyable. That way, there's no reason why you wouldn't want to keep coming back for more. You can do this by sharing your goals with your friends or treating yourself to something special, like a cheat day or some retail therapy. Naturally, the reward will differ depending on your new goals, but treating yourself is a great way to keep your habit-building journey on track.

4. Remember to reflect on how far you've come!

It's important to reflect on your journey once you've created your new habit. Plus, it's a great opportunity to treat yourself for being an absolute legend.
