Three healthy snacks to keep you cool this Summer

Looking for a yummy way to beat the heat? In this blog we’ve compiled some of our favourite treats.

Frozen Oranges

This fresh and citrusy snack is guaranteed to deliver a bite or two of nostalgia and Vitamin C.

Ingredients

  • 1 Orange

Method

  • Cut one orange into quarters
  • Place it in the freezer for 2-3 hours
  • Enjoy!


Ants on a log

This sweet and salty combo is a match made in heaven, featuring celery, peanut butter and sultanas.

Ingredients

  • 1 Celery stick
  • 1 spoon of Peanut Butter
  • A handful of sultanas

Method

  • Cut your celery stick into 4 x pieces (or to your liking!)
  • Smear a generous spoon of Peanut butter into the centre of it
  • Top it with sultanas
  • Dig in!


Japanese Cucumber Salad

This trending Cucumber salad goes well with a good old-fashioned dose of sunshine.

Ingredients

  • 3 mini Cucumbers
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Light brown sugar
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 sprig of Parsley
  • 1 tsp of Crushed Peanuts
  • 1/4 tsp crushed Red Pepper Flakes, (or more if you like it hot!)

Method

  • Slice the mini cucumbers into bite-sized pieces
  • Combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, garlic and crushed red pepper flakes in a small bowl
  • Pour the dressing on to the cucumbers and toss to combine
  • Serve with red pepper flakes, parsley and crushed peanuts for garnish
