Our go-to Chocolate Mousse Recipe

We're *big* believers in treating yourself every now and then. Whether that be in the form of a hot and steamy sauna session, a movie night in or something sweet. So, we've been raving about this healthy Chocolate Mousse recipe to anyone who will listen.

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs, separated into yolks and whites
  • 3/4 cup plain, non-fat Greek yoghurt
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • 1 and a 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 orange
  • 1 sprig of mint

Method:

  • Whisk together egg yolks, Greek yogurt, brown sugar, flour, and sea salt in a small saucepan. Place over low heat and cook, stirring for 5 minutes or until the mixture has thickened slightly.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to cool slightly for about 2 minutes. Add the chocolate chips and stir until they melt into the egg yolk mixture. Set aside to cool.
  • In a standing mixer, whip egg whites to stiff peaks. Slowly drizzle in melted chocolate mixture, folding carefully, ensuring not to deflate the egg whites. Fold until it's mixed.
  • Pour the mousse into 8 glasses, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Slice up one orange into half-moon slices (with the peel still on) and place them on top, along with a few leaves of mint.
