Love grows at Genesis Health + Fitness
In amongst the treadmills and weights, a love story has unfolded within the walls of Genesis Coffs Harbour. Blake, a cleaner at Coffs Harbour Hospital and a hopeless romantic, had always dreamed of marrying a nurse. Blake found himself drawn to Stephanie, a successful businesswoman in the area of in-home care for the aged and disabled.
Their friendship began innocently enough as gym buddies, bonding over shared workouts and fitness goals. Over time, their casual chats evolved into deeper conversations, and Genesis became more than just a place to exercise.
After eighteen months of building their relationship, Blake felt ready to take the next step. During one of the gym’s Open Days, he mustered the courage to pop the question. With Genesis Gym serving as the foundation of their relationship journey, Blake thought it would be perfect to propose at a place which was special to them both.
As they looked forward to their wedding in September 2024, Blake continues to enjoy working out at Coaching Zone, while Stephanie likes to use the treadmill and attend group fitness classes. And when it came time to practice their first dance as husband and wife, they gratefully accepted Genesis' offer to use one of the exercise rooms to practice.
Stephanie says: “From friends and gym buddies, to partners and now marriage, our journey has been an interesting one. After seeking permission from my father, Blake decided that the only place to go down on one knee was at the gym, surrounded by the wonderful and supportive staff that had watched our love grow and blossom.”
