One of the simplest ways to improve your
health is to drink more water. It’s so simple that most people completely
overlook it.
Think about it, aside from oxygen, nothing
is more important to human life than water. Without it we would die in just a
couple of days, and our body is approximately 80% water. Every single cell in
our body needs water to function optimally.
This brings us to the question of how much
water do you need?
While there is no single answer, because
everybody is different, the government recommends a minimum of 2 litres per
day.
I would look at that as a minimum starting
point. Increase it if you’re larger than an average person, are in a hot
climate, or you work out.
If you use 3 litres as a baseline, you
should be doing pretty good.
A simple test is when you go to the
bathroom, your urine should always be clear. The darker it is, the more
dehydrated you are. This simple test will allow you to stay on top of your
hydration.
Just be aware that when you start to feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated! You should be drinking water before thirst sets in.
