Being handy in the kitchen is something you have to develop
over time. The problem is that many of us don’t want to spend that time
learning or wanting to cook in the first place. However, if you want to eat
healthy, it is much tougher to do when you are eating out every night at a fast
food place or restaurants. Listed below are a couple of tips on how to eat
healthy at home when you hate cooking in the first place.
Be the Grill Master
Even if you hate cooking in the kitchen, there is a very good chance you still
love using the grill on the back deck. When eating healthy, that grill is worth
its weight in gold. Throw some meat and vegetables on the grill and you have
the perfect high protein and low-fat meal. Plus, the number of carbs in grilled
meals are usually very low as well. There is nothing better than sitting
outside on a sunny day, grilling away, hanging with friends, and watching your
favourite sport on television.
Make Enough Meals for the Week
Many of us fitness fanatics tend to only cook once a week. We just make enough
of it to last for six or seven days. Tupperware should become your best friend.
Cook an immense amount of the same meal, throw it into containers, and then
store it in the freezer. Then when you want to eat every day, simply take the
container out, zap it in the microwave, and you have your whole dinner ready
for you in a minute or two. While we may not enjoy cooking, we can all probably
handle it if we are only doing it once a week.
Get a Juicer
There are fitness enthusiasts that only eat one real meal a day. The rest of
the day they enjoy protein shakes, smoothies, and other drinks that can be made
with a good juicer. A couple of vegetables, a few pieces of fruit, some ice,
and a scoop of protein powder in a juicer sounds like a great meal.
